What's Your burning bush?

Exodus 3 Common English Bible (CEB)

Moses at the burning bush

Moses was taking care of the flock for his father-in-law Jethro,[a] Midian’s priest. He led his flock out to the edge of the desert, and he came to God’s mountain called Horeb. The Lord’s messenger appeared to him in a flame of fire in the middle of a bush. Moses saw that the bush was in flames, but it didn’t burn up. Then Moses said to himself, Let me check out this amazing sight and find out why the bush isn’t burning up.
When the Lord saw that he was coming to look, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!”
Moses said, “I’m here.”
Then the Lord said, “Don’t come any closer! Take off your sandals, because you are standing on holy ground.” He continued, “I am the God of your father, Abraham’s God, Isaac’s God, and Jacob’s God.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.
Then the Lord said, “I’ve clearly seen my people oppressed in Egypt. I’ve heard their cry of injustice because of their slave masters. I know about their pain. I’ve come down to rescue them from the Egyptians in order to take them out of that land and bring them to a good and broad land, a land that’s full of milk and honey

In the above excerpt from God's word we see a graphical representation of destiny call and the struggle of the one being called to wholly embrace it.

For Moses, the  bush that was burning without being consumed was a mirror of his own "fire" burning within him since he was young without ever going out. He had a divine destiny call and he knew it since childhood. The call had even put him in grave danger to the extent of being in exile at the moment of encountering this divine visitation. The destiny call was to save his own people from oppression and slavery. At one point it burned so strongly that he killed an Egyptian assailant.

Like Moses we all have our fires burning within us and  we are witnesses that they doesn't go off even when we ignore them. Some of us have desire to change lives for orphans, the sick or the needy. Some have the desire to bring change through leadership, some it's the passion to preach the gospel of Christ. For Some it is the plight of youths in their journey to purpose and destiny fulfillment. Whatever the fire within you, it will never go away until it's channeled in the direction God wants it to go.

I encourage you today not to waste your time  ignoring the fire within but to remove your shoes and go near God for strength and supply towards fulfillment of your destiny.

God bless You.
