GOD'S PROVIDENCE: RELAX, HE IS IN CHARGE

Have you ever stumbled into a situation where you felt confused and out of place and then it turned out that you were in exactly the right place at the right time? Have you ever been mistreated or felt that everything was going wrong, only to have it all turn out
for the best? It's great when that happens, isn't it? Something clicks inside you, a light goes on, and it all starts to make sense. You tell yourself, "That didn't just happen. It wasn't just a coincidence. It was meant to be." And that's right. It wasn't just a coincidence. In fact, there's no such thing as a coincidence. Everything that happens is part of a plan. This is true of those moments when things click in a special way, and it's true at every other moment as well.

Everything that happens, happens for a purpose. Christians have a word for this. The word is providence. Here's how one historic statement of faith, the Heidelberg Catechism, describes providence. "Providence is the almighty and ever present power of God by which he upholds, as with his hand, heaven and earth and all creatures, and so rules them that leaf and blade, rain and drought, fruitful years and lean years, food and drink, health and sickness, prosperity and poverty––all things, in fact, come to us not by chance but from his fatherly hand." There is no such thing as coincidence––only providence. There is no such thing as luck or chance--only God's plan.
