PSALMS CHAPTER 1
1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4  The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6  For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

BEING BLESSED IS "BEING" NOT "POSSESSING"
Today the word of God has challenged me with this teaching in Psalms 1 which also opened the chapter of Christ's preaching on the earth. The word "blessed" can be taken to mean:

1.  "the right goings or happy progress, or prosperous success of the man"
2. "How happy that person is and will be forever"

The teaching of the psalm is that you are really blessed if your day to day life is a representation of God on earth. The level of your blessing is not the miracles that you can testify about now but the character transformation you can point to since you believed and received Christ Jesus as lord and Savior of your soul.

Your are extremely blessed and happy if your spirit is continually experiencing the renewal from the Holy Spirit, if the former proud spirit you had is being changed into a humble and contrite spirit which God cannot despise, if the selfish and self centered person you once was is giving in to the generous and loving nature of the Almighty God and the list of God's transformation in our sinful hearts has no end.

Lets press on brethren to the true blessing of God in our lives: The character of God in our personalies and character:

Mat 5:3  Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:4  Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Mat 5:5  Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Mat 5:6  Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Mat 5:7  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Mat 5:8  Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Mat 5:9  Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Mat 5:10  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:11  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all  manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

 Blessed day
